Happy Halloween! Tuesday Funk is pleased to ruin both this fine holiday and your upcoming Thanksgiving as well with this tasty tale from John Everson, who stopped by our microphone to treat us with this trick way back in October 2012. This very NSFW story is called "Pumpkin Head," and it goes a little like this...

And if you liked that, you won't want to miss our next event, which takes place Tuesday, November 5, 2013, and will include readings from Vojislav Pejović, Rosamund Lannin, John Rich, J.H. Palmer, and Paul McComas & Greg Starrett. Be there!

Paul McComas & Greg Starrett

His book Unforgettable: Harrowing Futures, Horrors, & (Dark) Humor (2011, Walkabout Publishing) won a Silver Prize at the 2012 Midwest Book Awards. His next novel, Logan's Journey, co-authored with Logan's Run author William F. Nolan, is slated for 2014 publication. Paul has edited two short-fiction anthologies, and his short indie movies have been screened at festivals worldwide, garnering international and national prizes. He teaches writing, literature, and film at various sites. A Milwaukee native, Paul lives in Evanston, Ill. with his wife and fellow fiction writer, Heather, and their rescue greyhound, Sam. Learn more at: www.PaulMcComas.com

Greg Starrett is a first-time author. He is a founder of Veidt Radio Theatre, which produces original Old Time Radio shows. Greg also is a fill-in music-show host and voice-over man for WJOB AM 1230 in Hammond, Indiana. He is employed as a telecommunications technician and enjoys foraging for wild foods, making jellies, mustards, and pickles, and beekeeping. A native of "Da Region," he lives in Munster, Indiana, with his wife and best friend Laurie, their cat Tippecanoe, and dog Tyler too.

Together at Tuesday Funk Paul and Greg will perform a scene from their new novel Fit for a Frankenstein in full costume and makeup. Please join them and all our celebrated readers on Tuesday, November 5th, 2013, upstairs at Hopleaf at 7:30 pm. This 21-and-older event is free.

He co-founded the collaborative theater group Attention Deficit Drama (1997-2003) and currently performs with Every house has a door. Joe will be back at a future date, but we're delighted to welcome Jessica, who joins our already stellar lineup of Paul McComas & Greg Starrett, Vojislav Pejović, Rosamund Lannin, and John Rich. Be there, upstairs at Hopleaf, 7:30 pm!

Tuesday Funk #63, November 5, 2013

At our July 2nd edition of Tuesday Funk, co-host Andrew Huff treated us to a series of fake cultural reviews culled from the pages of Gapers Block, and it sounded eerily similar to this...

And if you liked that, you won't want to miss our next event, which takes place Tuesday, November 5, 2013, and will include readings from Vojislav Pejović, Rosamund Lannin, John Rich, J.H. Palmer, and Paul McComas & Greg Starrett. Be there!

At our September 3rd edition of Tuesday Funk, Lania Knight brought us a powerful and evocative recounting of childbirth that sounded quite a lot like this...

And if you liked that, you won't want to miss our next event, which takes place Tuesday, November 5, 2013, and will include readings from Vojislav Pejović, Rosamund Lannin, John Rich, J.H. Palmer, and Paul McComas & Greg Starrett. Be there!
